Description
Ibiza is one of the largest of Balearic Islands in Spain. It is situated in western Mediterranean Sea. Ibiza is derived from Arabic word "Yabisah" meaning Land or Landward. It has an area of 221 square meters. Ibiza has notable archaeological sites. This town is home of Muslims, Romans and Phoenicians. These cultures have left their mark on this island. UNESCO has declared Ibiza as Heritage of Humanity in 1999 due to its amazing mixture of cultures. Ibiza is a proud town that is reflected in the people, culture, fiestas, restaurants, bars and every thing that makes the island such a great place. The island of Ibiza is well-known for its summer club parties which attract large numbers of tourists. Tourists will enjoy the Mediterranean climate of this city that has slightly cooler summers and milder winters. Visitors would enjoy amazing fashion collections. Night time shopping in the old town of Ibiza is extraordinary. In season months (June to September), the shops are open until after midnight - selling throws, wraps, clothes, souvenirs, music, leather ware, candles, artwork, jewellery and much more.

Night Life
It’s a popular tourist destination, because of its legendary riotous nightlife. The famous clubs include Privilege (the largest club in the world), Eden (the busiest nightclub in Sant Antoni), Es Paradís (noted for its water parties), Amnesia (known for foam parties), Space (an after party club), Pacha and DC10.
Traditionally the season begins at the start of June with Space and DC10's opening parties and ends on the first weekend of October with the now legendary Closing Parties.
The schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at noon, early evening naps, late night clubbing, and “disco sunrises.”
Activities
Ibiza is well known for live music and DJ’s, which is played in most of the clubs. This town is one of largest and great Water Sport Island. Some of the activities are scuba diving, night dives and wreck with a complete staff of professional dive instructors. Harbours at the beach offer a variety of boating activities. Visitors can charter a motor or sailing yacht. Spa’s in Ibiza offer affordable, attractive spa treatments.

Pay phones are either blue or green and accept either coins or phone cards, which are sold at post offices, tobacco shops and newsagents. Three mobile phone operators provide thorough GSM 900/1800 coverage throughout the country and the Balearic and Canary Islands. Email and Internet access is available at Internet cafes in most towns and resorts.

Attractions
This island attracts tourists and artists. It has Roman, Phoenician, and Carthaginian ruins. The old town of Ibiza (D'alt Vila) was built by king Felipe II and was designed by Giovanni Batista. 113 pirate ships existed in the water of Ibiza. This is now one of the fortifications that has original structure. It is called “Monumento a los Corsarios” meaning monument to the pirates, which is seen in the harbour. Ibiza has few amazing beaches within the city - Playa D’en Bossa, Figueretas.
An excellent collection of international paintings and sculpture linked to Ibiza can be found in “The Museum of Contemporary Art” and many more.

Language Description
Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.
Tipping
Hotel and restaurant bills usually include service charges, but additional tips are welcomed for services rendered. In established restaurants tips of about 10% are expected. Drivers of metered taxis expect small tips and it is customary to tip usually 5-10% for most services, including guides.
