Description
Dalyan is a small town located on the River Dalyan in Turkey. This fabulous hamlet enjoys sophisticated and magnificent natural settings. The whole village is silhouetted by massive mountains, which adds to the beauty of the township. Ancient town of Dalyan, Caunos, is known as the greatest archaeological site with many ancient ruins. Dalyan enjoys the pleasure of warm and dry climate with the rivers always with flowing waters.

There are many shops throughout Dalyan that present the best Turkish curios. The shops here offer good quality leather goods, clothes, keepsakes, fancy jewelry, aromatic spices and genuine handmade crafts for a very moderate price. Markets are held in Dalyan on every Saturday where tourists can look for fresh vegetables, fruits and all other edible items.
Restaurants
Dalyan has a multitude of restaurants that serve good quality food. In these eateries travelers can look for both local and global cuisines. Tourists looking to savor Chinese dishes should not miss visiting Maras Mah. Gerda Patiesserie serves varieties of Turkish delights and fresh sea foods. Hotel Riverside also serves good sea foods in a Turkish style. Other suggested restaurants include Ali Baba, Ceyhan etc.
Night Life
Nightlife is a bit laid back at Dalyan. But, there are few joints offering typical Turkish nights that includes belly dancing and customary music. Some suggested night time venues include Sweet sixteen and Zilli.
Activities
Travelers can head to Iztuzu or turtle beach to enjoy all beach oriented activities. This beach serves as a proliferation base for loggerhead turtles. There are also mud bath centers along the beach, where travelers can enjoy mud bathing. Boat trips can be organized to Koycegiz or around Dalyan to enjoy the scenic views. Here travelers can also experience jeep safaris, turtle watching, scuba diving etc.

Travelers at Dalyan should visit Lycian cliff tombs, which is a historical site. For an extensive sight seeing option travelers should head to the nearby town of Marmaris.

Tipping
Either a small change or a percentage of the bill is the customary tip given for most services in Turkey. Big hotels and restaurants generally add a service charge to the bill, but whenever that is not the case, 10 and 15% of the bill is expected as tips.
